Healing for Teens and Parents

Bethesda Workshops

About this workshop

The Healing for Teens Workshop is a three-day, faith-based program for teen boys ages 15–19 and a parent or guardian who attends with them. This Christ-centered, clinically grounded intensive recognizes that lasting change happens when families grow together. Led by master’s level therapists trained in addiction recovery and family systems, the workshop helps families understand harmful behaviors, address root issues, and begin meaningful change.

Interactive sessions include a mix of separate and shared group work, giving teens and parents space to learn individually and together.

Extensive research shows the power of group therapy for fostering connection, accountability, and growth. Through this supportive environment, teens discover they are not alone, parents gain confidence to guide recovery, and families leave with practical tools and renewed hope.

Technology-Free Environment

As with all Bethesda Workshops, this weekend is fully technology-free.

Phones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches are turned in at the start of the workshop and returned at the end. This allows for deep focus and connection without distraction.

An emergency contact number will be provided for family use only.

Workshop Impact

This three-day intensive provides the equivalent of several months of family and individual counseling. Teens gain practical tools for breaking free from harmful behaviors, while parents receive guidance on supporting recovery without shame or secrecy. Families consistently report that the workshop deepens connection, restores hope, and sets them on a shared path toward long-term healing.

About Our Leaders

The Healing for Teens workshop is led by licensed therapists who are trained in treating adolescent compulsive sexual behavior and family recovery. Leaders bring a unique blend of clinical expertise, developmental understanding, and Christian faith to guide both teens and their parents. Parents participate in parallel sessions, giving the entire family practical tools for change.

Schedule

The weekend workshop runs from Thursday morning to Saturday afternoon.

Families move through brief educational teachings, activities, and therapeutic group sessions. Some groups are parent-only or teen-only for safe processing, while others bring the full family together in a multifamily group setting.

This structure supports both individual insight and family transformation.
